Pantry Door Latch Enhancement
When loaded heavy, the pantry drawers will roll out and bang against the closed full-length pantry door. When hit hard enough, the catches that hold the pantry door closed will release and allow the drawer to push the door open. Ultimately, the drawer will roll out fully, the end of the extension of the drawer glides. If this happens with a heavy enough drawer, it's possible for the drawer to break the drawer glides and fall completely out of the pantry and onto the floor. When this happens, it can damage the pantry door, stiles, the drawer and the glides as well as the linoleum floor. This enhancement is the installation of a push-button latch the throws a metal cam the engages with and is held by a small steel bracket. It is the hope that this additional latch will hold the pantry door closed in the event that we fail to latch a heavy drawer and that drawer rolls out a bit and knocks into the pantry door.
